Personal Injury Lawyer
Why do you need an experienced Massachusetts personal injury lawyer?
If you are involved in any kind of accident that results in a physical injury, you may feel overwhelmed, and unsure of what to do. Before you make any decisions, contact a Massachusetts personal injury attorney. A personal injury attorney will help you protect your decisions, your rights and find the best way forward after an accident in which you are injured.
An experienced team of personal injury lawyers can take on the burdens that confront victims of all kinds of negligent acts. For example, a lawyer can help you navigate complicated insurance claims. Without an expert lawyer on your side, your claim could be denied or reduced for any number of reasons. Having a personal injury lawyer represent you means that it’s much more difficult for an insurance company to treat you unfairly.
Why should you hire Ballin & Associates, LLC?
Our team of experienced Massachusetts personal injury lawyers can help you secure the compensation you deserve if a careless or negligent person or corporation has injured you. We have employed the services of accident reconstruction specialists, engineers, architects, medical experts and others we find helpful to our mission. Most importantly, we have successfully handled personal injury cases since 1982. Our forty years of experience enables us to follow the best strategy to maximizing the recovery of monetary compensation for our clients. As specialists in these types of cases, we know how to value our client’s cases. With this knowledge, the insurance companies are denied the opportunity to take advantage of our clients by insisting their cases are worth much less.
In our experience, there are accidents where there is more than one person responsible for causing the injuries. If you have been injured in an accident involving multiple people or companies, you deserve an experienced personal injury lawyer who will investigate and pursue viable claims against every bad actor, who contributed to the accident, rather than just pursuing a single claim against one bad actor which appears to be less labor and cost intensive. In short, you need an expert personal injury lawyer to exhaust every avenue of recovery, not a lawyer looking for a quick and easy insurance settlement.
Since 1981 99% of our injured clients have had successful outcomes. How did we do this? By treating our clients like they were our own family. We promise to devote our skill, drive and experience to every client with the compassion they deserve.
What will this cost you?
If our law firm accepts your case, you will pay nothing unless and until we collect compensation for you. Our fee will be a percentage of the amount that we collect on your behalf. We always have a signed written agreement with every client so you know exactly how our fee will be determined right from the start.

We take the time to learn how these injuries affect our clients and then demand our clients be compensated fully and fairly for all they have gone through. The following are common injuries we see in our cases:
- Shoulder injuries, such as a torn rotator cuff
- Concussions
- Leg and ankle fractures
- Ruptured or herniated discs in the spine

- Interstate 95
- Interstate 93
- Route 1 on the North Shore
What to do after a personal injury:
Being involved in an accident resulting in a physical injury is a frightening and confusing experience. Your body may be flooded with a surge of adrenaline during and immediately being injured, which can make it difficult to fully understand what happened. You might make irrational decisions or statements that could affect your legal rights.
To prevent this, here are some things you should do if you are ever involved in a personal injury.
Assess your medical condition. If there is any question in your mind as to whether you should get medical attention, you probably should, so call 911 immediately. If you feel OK on the day of the accident, but worse the following day, seek medical attention then.
Carefully document relevant details. If you are able, take photographs of the location where the accident happened, any vehicles that were involved, or anything else that you believe caused or contributed to your injuries.
Do not speak with anyone other than police officers and emergency medical personnel.
In a car accident, file an official accident report with the local police department.
Contact your insurance agent.
What is the deadline for filing a lawsuit relating to a personal injury?
All lawsuits for based on personal injuries in Massachusetts must be filed in court within three years of the date of the injury. However, it is always best to get an experienced personal injury lawyer involved in your case as soon as possible after you are injured. Sometimes important evidence can be lost if an investigation of the accident is delayed.
What if the accident was partially my fault?
An injured person may recover as long as he or she is not found to be more at fault than the other persons who caused the injury. In other words, if the injured person and another person are equally at fault, the injured person can still recover, but their recovery is reduced by their own percentage of fault. So, if a jury decides the injured person was 25% at fault, that person’s recovery is reduced by 25%. If the jury decides that the injured person was 51% or more at fault, he or she recovers nothing. For additional information on how courts compare the fault of persons involved in personal injury accidents, see our blog post on that topic here.
Our personal injury attorneys are experienced at investigating accidents and discovering the truth about what happened. By proving our clients were minimally at fault or had zero fault, we have established a 99% success rate resulting in successful settlements, awards and verdicts for our clients.

Attorney For police Officers In Massachusetts
Our goal is to collect as much money as possible for Massachusetts police officers and State Troopers injured while on duty and minimize the financial impact on their families. We also make it a point to ease tensions between the client and the department, if any, and to help the employee return to full duty as quickly as possible. At times, we connect injured officers with respected medical specialists to treat their injuries.
Some officers are of the opinion that they can’t make a claim against a responsible third party who causes their injury. This is not the case. In Massachusetts, it is the right of every individual, no matter what his or her occupation, to be compensated for an injury caused by another. We believe this should and must apply to public safety employees hurt on duty. And that is what the law provides. To learn more about your rights, the law and how these claims are made, view our free recorded webinar: Police Injured On Duty: Learn Your Rights To Make Personal Injury Claims.
