Attorney Ballin earned a B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1978. He founded Ballin & Associates shortly after receiving his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1981. He is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.
